This week I was able to successfully create a ball joint!

I modeled it on Fusion and got it printed. An issue I ran into was that the ball joint had no friction whatsoever, so it didn't grip the balls effectively. I tightened the wing nut and printed a new prototype with smaller holes which helped considerably. Additionally, with the help of the wonderful staff and interns at the Innovation Hub, I was able to test printing two different materials on top of each other. The bottom layer was PLA, which provided durability and structure, while the top layer was TPU, which created grip and flexibility. I also tested different sizes and thicknesses of the ball joint. Today was a success!
