Growing up, my favorite thing to do with my brother was play with our stuffed animals and create all sorts of crazy stories involving them. When I found out that stop-motion films were made with actual physical puppets, my mind was BLOWN. It was playing with stuffed animals taken to THE NEXT LEVEL.
Obviously, I wanted in on this game. But how?
How does a stop-motion character actually move?
Armatures.
An armature is a skeleton for a stop-motion puppet. It's what allows a character to move and truly come to life!
There are many different types of armatures - some of the most popular include wire armatures and ball and socket armatures. I'm going to try building some and document it on this blog!
